About Lapis Cove

Thoughtfully designed. Sustainably made. Crafted in Malaysia.

The Artist & Founder

Hi, I'm Kendrick — the designer and maker behind Lapis Cove.

I work in the game industry as a concept artist. I spend my days designing worlds and drawing rocks. And somewhere along the way, I wanted to create tangible objects outside the digital space, and 3D printing made that possible. Lapis Cove started as a side project with me experimenting with 3D printing after getting inspired by creators online. It was a step outside my comfort zone that evolved into an ongoing design project.

I wanted to fill my workspace, my desk, where I spend most of my time, with objects that add value to the space.

Every piece is designed, printed, and hand-assembled in our Malaysian studio.

Meaning Behind the Name

Lapis has a double meaning — it means "layer" in Malay, and it's a beautiful blue gem in Latin (lapis lazuli). Cove suggests a cozy, sheltered space.

Our design philosophy is simple: beautiful objects, drawn from minimalist, functional forms — the kind that feels calm, intentional, and timeless. We craft pieces that are distinctly our own, inspired by the warmth of Japandi, the simplicity of Scandinavian design, with the hope that thoughtful objects can make everyday spaces feel a little better.

Why 3D Printing?

Coming from a concept art for games background, 3D printing felt like a natural extension of my skills — turning digital concepts into physical objects.

It allows me to create with precision, minimize waste, and make every piece to order. No overproduction. No excess. Just intentional making.

Made to Order

Every piece is made to order. It takes a bit longer, but nothing goes to waste, and each piece gets the attention it deserves before it goes out.
